Founded in 1953 by 12 local homebuilders and incorporated with the State in 1954, the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association ranks as the oldest and largest local trade organization representing the residential construction industry. It has nearly 472 members, working in all facets of the home building industry. The Southern Nevada Home Builders Association has joined with the Green Building Initiative to bring more environmentally sensitive homebuilding to the Las Vegas Valley. The mission of the Green Building Initiative is to accelerate the adoption of building practices that result in energy-efficient, healthier and environmentally sustainable buildings by promoting credible and practical green building approaches for residential and commercial construction.

Southern Nevada Water Authority

The Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) is a cooperative agency formed in 1991 to address Southern Nevada's unique water needs on a regional basis. SNWA officials are charged with managing the region's water resources and providing for Las Vegas Valley area residents' and businesses' present and future water needs. SNWA's mission is to manage the region's water resources and develop solutions that will ensure adequate future water supplies for the Las Vegas Valley. The Southern Nevada Home Builders Association has joined with the Green Building Initiative to bring more environmentally sensitive homebuilding to the Las Vegas Valley.

Established by state law in 1911, the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN) supervises and regulates the operation and maintenance of public utilities. It is an independent body which balances the interests of ratepayers and utilities. The mission of the PUCN is to enable universal access to affordable, efficient, safe, and reliable utility service in Nevada.

Whether going directly into the workplace, or continuing their education through an apprenticeship, community college, technical school, or university, the Northwest Career and Technical Academy will provide students with the skills, knowledge and professional leadership training necessary for a successful future. The Academy will also offer students a jump start through participation in in real -world experiences, field studies, clinicals, and internships. Programs offered will afford students valuable credentials such as industry certifications, licenses and college articulated credits. Licensing and certifications received represent valuable employment skills; many of these designations meet national industry standards and increase potential earning power and post-secondary training/educational placement.

We are RESNET/BPI certified energy raters, contractors, retrofitters, architects, materials suppliers, and others associated with the building performance industry. The SNBPP is a focal point where raters and companies can exchange ideas, obtain information on incentive programs, and discuss technical issues concerning building performance in our desert climate in an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual support. All interested raters and others are invited to attend and to become a part of this organization.
